JOIN THE LABOUR PARTY Do you feel the same way we do about the kind of Britain you want to live in? A Britain where the economy is strong and stable; where there is a first-class health service free at the point of use; where education is always a priority ; and where you and your family are treated equally and can feel safe and secure. This is the Britain we are working hard to build. This is an exciting time for our Party. With Labour, Britain has got better. Crime is down; there are record numbers of people in work; NHS waiting lists are at their lowest ever; school results are better than ever; Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit has increased; and there are now free prescriptions and free eye test for pensioners. And with a new Leader the Labour is moving forward to move Britain forward. Our goals are full employment; an end to child poverty; strong public services; and to continue tackling crime and anti-social behaviour. Join us and be part of our journey. Maybe you already vote Labour at election time? Maybe you have thought about joining but not actually done it? Maybe you think you are too young, too old or too busy? Maybe it's because nobody has asked you. We're asking you now. Join us and you can help shape our country's future. Please select an option for payment below. HOW LABOUR IS ORGANISED IN HAMMERSMITH AND FULHAM THE CONSTITUENCY PARTIES There are two local labour parties in the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham. The areas of the two parties correspond with those of the new constituencies that will be in place at the next General Election a result of the report of the Boundaries Commission. The Northern and Central parts of the Borough will form the new Hammersmith Constituency and are therefore covered by Hammersmith Constituency Labour Party (“CLP”). Although the constituency is called “Hammersmith” it also includes Shepherd’s Bush and the northern part of Fulham down to the Lillie Road. The Southern part of the Borough will form part of the new Chelsea & Fulham constituency and is therefore covered by Chelsea & Fulham CLP. This constituency includes the central and southern parts of Fulham south of Lillie Road. Both CLPs have their offices at 28 Greyhound Road London W6 8NX and they work together very closely. The Secretaries of Hammersmith CLP and Chelsea & Fulham CLP are, respectively, John Grigg and Sue O’Neill. If have any queries about the work and organisation of the Labour Party in this Borough, please telephone our office on 020 7381 5074. There has been an active Women’s Forum in Hammersmith &
Fulham for a number of years. In 1998 we won a special Party award
for developing women members and since then we have worked together
to help develop the skills and confidence of women within the local
party. We play an important part in shaping the local party by
organising campaign activities and lots of other events. Women in
many ways have different political perspectives and priorities from
those of men. Women Forums can help to ensure that these priorities
are acknowledged in the activities of local parties.
The Labour party is committed to reflecting the communities
we seek to serve and represent. To this end the Party has
established an Ethnic Minorities Forum both to encourage people
from ethnic minorities who are already members and as a means of
engaging with people from minorities who are not
members.
